interesing but not finished

This looks like it would be perfect for the title menu screen for some kind of elevator game. Then it would get full points I bet. But as it is...eh. Very simple and easily done. It just looks unfinished as it is now.

I wouldn't mind collaborating with you to turn this into a real flash game.
(I use GF2 forgame making. easier to program things.)

(on a side note, why do you mention "The full size of the collab is about 40MB being loaded." when the submission info clearly states "File Info: Movie | 827.7 KB " ? I'm so confused. It wasnt 40mg..that'd take forever to load and it loaded quite fast.

i dont get it

I was really expecting more from this. but i guess it was ok. Certainly didn't deserve 10's geez, save those for the amazing works, will yah everyone? lol

-1 no story ( or rather no middle to explain the ending )
-1 randomness makes for confusion. Random events or people can be slipped in but really, they are usually sight gags that are connected with the story
-1 nothing to emotionally connect the viewer with the work. That is the hallmark of a good short, movie, film, commercial..etc. It just leaves the viewers scratching their heads.
-1 wtf is that thing in the box? No explanation at all. no funny thing happening. (perhaps make it come alive and sing a little ditty? then that would have been fun and disturbing at the same time..a nice cheery little xmas song yaaaay! )

so that makes -4 from 10 -6/10

for the sidebar rating, i give a 4/5 since it was a smooth animation and didn't glitch anywhere, so that's solid. Didn't care much for the character design, but that's irrelevant

I believe that character design is hugely relevent, if you don't like the character design. Don't just ignore it, add/lower the score based on the character.

also

I think that everyone keeps asking me to do something THEIR WAY for the ending. I think its better to end with an open ending so people can just interpret themselves, saves me time and a lot of complaints of how it could've ended.

and really, even if I had more time, I doubt I'd change the ending.

This one tops all the ones before it. With smoother animation, complete story and great comedy, it actually drew me in instead of remaining confused. You guys are really improving this in big ways!

Solid animation, Well designed characters, simple yet well defined enough to know what we are seeing. Did not cheapen it with stick figures. Used appropriate music to fit the intended mood.

All pluses in my mind.

(Since i'm not giving this a low score, there is not need to offer constructive criticism. The animation does its job and is clearly understood. Anything else would be nitpicking that wouldn't serve any constructive purpose. Not all reviews need to be critical. So in other words, its not a useless review, since it is positive with a high score. I'd think that high score were quite valuable.)

Oh this deserves the 10's people give it big time!

I really like the facial expressions and the subtle humor placed into it as well as the overall feeling of the piece.

You didn't get too lazy with most of it . feels like a documentary would be. Although it seems like ti would be the premiere promotion of a documentary of his life maybe, with further show to be later for the details. Seeing it in that way, it does feel complete.

I usually hate memes with a passion but this is Great Work!
(im not rating on the animation movements, those were few and far between but the overall presentation was awesome. There seemed to be no need for any great animated characters running around too much anyway.)

Could have done somuch more with this

I dunno, its a start, i'd say. Missing a lot. Random drunk encounter. Like most others. No actual humor (unless you really get a kick out of the typical college drink-babble singing..eh gets old fast) and clumsy animation.

Not sure why there was any issue of foot through floor. That's usually a 3D animation issue. not flash. Usually that's easy to avoid...hm...guess it depends on the software..maybe using crappy or difficult program dunno. (was this made in Toon boom? in that case I totally understand the floor collision problems. But even that can be resolved with a little research and work)

Either way,not terribly interesting or funny unless you add more, or allow an actual storyline to be there, like before he was drunk. What lead up to it? Maybe he never got drunk before and the other elves put him up to it and tricked im..finding hes a light weight? Then this is the result as seen here.

Or perhaps hes been addicted and was before sneaking around drinking but on this holiday season, let loose and drank much more than usual. It may be fun and entertaining to see him sneaking booze into various elf-related items ordinarily meant for Xmas purpose, slowly getting so drunk hes doing it half-assed, even to the point of laughing as he he'd stuff in plain sight to the annoyed looks of everyone. Some funny there I'm sure. I'm sure you can think of something better.

I'm just saying you can really make this shine if you added more to it to give it something for a viewer to latch onto. As it is, it's like a small clip from family guy or something. Which in itself could possibly be good for a laugh, but its been done so many times the shine has worn off. Yeah humor is tough and everyone is a critic. I give this a high score because of the fact that you put real work into this, made him sing and obviously choreographed his drunken steps all over the place. So in putting real effort into this and avoiding many of the newbie mistakes has earned you higher score than the usual. (BIG points for not making this a stick flash lol)
